We are looking for a performance management leader with experience designing and leading the performance management strategy and plan for a company similar to Yahoo.  Reporting initially to the Chief People Officer (CPO) with dotted lines to the VP, Global HRBP Lead and VP, Total Rewards, the Director of Performance Management will partner with HRBPs and leaders to develop and roll out a new philosophy and process for performance management.

What You'll Do:

  • Design & implement a company wide performance management philosophy

  • Develop and manage Yahoo’s assessment and promotion processes ensuring latest trends in the talent market are reflected

  • In close partnership with HRBPs, advise and coach leaders on talent mapping, mentoring and coaching, development and progression - providing a bridge between HRBPs and the L&D team.

  • Reimagine the performance management process to suit Yahoo when it comes to:

    • Goals & Expectations 

    • Performance Assessment framework

    • Feedback

    • Facilitation of “Talent Roundtable” reviews, along with coaching HRBPs to do the same

    • Calibration of “top talent” 

    • Link between performance and potential

    • Succession planning

    • Connection to compensation

What You Have:

  • 8+ years in performance management, HR, or related roles

  • Proven track record of developing, implementing and iterating a scalable performance approach in a fast-paced internet/tech environment

  • Seen a philosophy successfully drive a culture of transparency, agility and growth

  • Experience working in the internet/tech sector

  • Exposure to senior leaders in Engineering and Product

  • Ability to analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement

  • You will deliver through influence rather than authority, so need to be able to facilitate discussions which may begin with multiple misaligned points of view, and synthesize them into alignment 

  • Excellent (concise, value-add) verbal and written communication skills

  • Communicate effectively and with impact to senior executives and stakeholders, creating buy-in in an open, honest, and direct manner

  • High energy level, positive attitude 

  • Comfort in juggling a broad set of priorities; strong project management skills

  • Data driven, able to present insights and recommendations to the leadership team

The compensation for this position ranges from $129,210.00 - $281,305.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
