Obsidian Security is looking for a Director, Global Strategic Events to lead the strategy and execution of large-scale tradeshows, conferences, and internal corporate events. We're looking for a passionate person that’s ready to build from the ground up, establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders and understands how to build meaningful, creative and engaging experiences for their audience. 

In this role, you will identify, develop and execute tentpole conferences and internal corporate events working alongside the Head of Field Marketing and the broader GTM team.

What you will do:

  • Project manage, lead and execute several global external (5-7 initially) and internal events (2-3 initially), ensuring the highest standards of event/show planning and delivery are maintained through effective team and resource management
  • Assigns roles, projects, and tasks to team members, ensuring all event requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Develop a comprehensive communications plan to inform all internal and external stakeholders of planned activities and actions needed surrounding all events
  • Report on program efficacy leveraging established - and yet to be established - methodologies and channels
  • Identify and evangelize for future event-based opportunities that will support company growth initiatives
  • Create, maintain and recommend continuous improvements for all on-site properties and convention assets
  • Ensure regular knowledge and best practice sharing among internal and external team
  • Comfortable working, delegating and interacting with executive leadership

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing events management
  • Must have project management experience and strong organization
  • Excellent presentation skills with consistency and accuracy, and outstanding copywriting and proofreading skills
  • A firm grasp on different marketing platforms, channels, and best practices, including social, digital, and email marketing
  • Must have the ability to move along multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver by event day
  • Must have hands-on experience with data to analyze metrics and create reports
  • Must have a high level of creativity
  • Occasional travel may be required
