Director of Compliance

We’re looking for a Director of Compliance to lead Alma’s Compliance Program. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel - Legal, this role will be integral to shaping the future of compliance at Alma and will collaborate with various departments across Alma to identify and appropriately respond to compliance risks. 

The ideal candidate has experience building and operationalizing best-in-class compliance and ethics programs, and programmatic and business/operations functions in a healthcare organization. The candidate must also be comfortable with striking the right balance between providing strategic direction and managing day-to-day workflows.  


What you’ll do:

  • You will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of Alma’s Compliance Program. 
  • You will ensure the infrastructure of Alma’s Compliance Program aligns with the seven elements of an effective compliance program as detailed in the 2023  Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General’s “General Compliance Program Guidance" reference guide. 
  • In partnership with senior leadership, you will maintain and further develop a strong culture of ethics and compliance, including personal accountability across all levels in the organization.
  • You will provide insight and direction to the Executive Leadership Team regarding the overall development and implementation of Alma’s Compliance Program in their respective areas of responsibility to proactively mitigate compliance risks.
  • You will stay abreast of current industry and enforcement developments, and recommend policy or procedure modifications that align with laws, regulations, emerging trends, proposed regulations/guidelines, and industry best practices in the regulatory compliance arena.   
  • You will facilitate compliance training and education to employees, management, and stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of compliance requirements.
  • You will lead Alma’s compliance-related investigative capabilities in close collaboration with Alma’s Legal, People & Culture, and other functional teams, as appropriate. 
  • You will direct periodic risk assessments and conduct related ongoing monitoring activities of Alma’s Compliance Program.

Who you are:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in a related field (or comparable work experience) with a Certification in Healthcare Compliance.
  • You have 7-10+ years’ experience within a healthcare compliance setting. 
  • You have the proven ability to develop and deploy a compliance program and effectively manage others in a fast-paced, high volume, and frequently changing environment.
  • You have comprehensive knowledge of compliance issues related to the telemedicine space including - but not limited to - relevant laws, rules and regulations, and billing and coding requirements. 
  • You have a strong understanding of healthcare coding, billing, and documentation standards as well as revenue cycle processes and procedures.
  • You are able to apply a risk-based analysis to compliance issues and demonstrate creativity and flexibility in developing solutions that satisfy both business requirements and legal obligation.
  • You have a demonstrated ability to operate in a highly visible, fast paced and challenging position successfully and efficiently.

Salary Band: $185,000 - $210,000
