Job Summary
Abacus Group, LLC is a leading global provider of managed IT, mutli-cloud and cybersecurity services to financial services clients. As the Director of Billing you will lead and evolve our billing function – one of the most important functions on our Finance team – as part of a fast-paced, high-growth, investor-backed IT services company. You will report directly to the CFO. You will use your analytical skills, attention to detail and people skills to lead the Billing team to ensure timely & accurate invoicing to our 600+ clients, answer billing-related questions, drive process and systems improvements, and manage A/R collections. You will collaborate cross-functionally, both internally and with clients. Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of recurring and non-recurring billing for 600+ clients, including MRR, T&M, project, and product invoices (~1,000+ invoices monthly)
- Drive on-time, accurate issuance of monthly recurring revenue (MRR) invoices, with a focus on issuing the vast majority near the first of each month
- Build scalable, reliable billing processes in collaboration with DevOps, Account Management, and Sales Ops teams
- Guide the team through our transition to Dynamics Business Central and ServiceNow as core systems, leveraging automation and API integrations where possible
- Coach and develop a growing team, currently composed of one manager and four analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, attention to detail, and continuous improvement
- Serve as the internal expert on billing-related data flows, systems, and client-facing issues, resolving root causes and eliminating recurring errors
- Own collections processes and team accountability; ensuring accurate invoices reduces the need for collection activity

- Track record of improving billing by systems and embedding reliable processes across teams

- Clear communicator with a focus on simplicity, accuracy, and accountability
Success in This Role Will Be Measured By
- % of MRR invoiced by the 10th of each month (goal: >90%)
- Dollar amount of credit memos issued due to billing errors
- Number of client tickets related to billing issues or corrections
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of professional experience, including 5-10 years in billing roles
- Positive attitude and great people skills
- Experience at a managed service provider (MSP) or IT services firm is highly preferred
