Job Purpose and Impact
The Director of Application Development leads the Pricing and Digital Customer Experience team in Cargill Animal Nutrition and Health and is responsible for maintaining, integrating and implementing software applications within the organization. This job leads a diverse and global team and provides guidance on software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications.
Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for developing and executing the Pricing and Digital Customer Experience application strategy in alignment with business goals.
  • Leads the execution and develops strategies for application configuration to align with business goals.
  • Provides broad oversight for release management processes and the programming, configuration, testing and deployment of fixes or updates for application version releases.
  • Establishes an open channel of communication with users and provides broad oversight and guidance on application support requests and needs.
  • Leads the team to conduct advanced and complex application support activities to deliver on business outcomes.
  • Identifies and drives engagement with key internal and external partners, understanding their needs and maintaining effective communication to ensure project alignment and success.
  • Develops broad reviews on incoming incident tickets and user requests to ensure prioritization in accordance to service level agreements.
  • Fosters positive relationships with software vendors and negotiates relevant contracts.
  • Tracks the performance of configured applications and makes adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reviews and approves recommended improvements for moderate to advanced and highly complex application specific support processes and procedures.
  • Manages team members to achieve the organization's goals, by ensuring productivity, communicating performance expectations, creating goal alignment, giving and seeking feedback, providing coaching, measuring progress and holding people accountable, supporting employee development, recognizing achievement and lessons learned, and developing enabling conditions for talent to thrive in an inclusive team culture.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Around 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Five years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in Application Management
  • Expert understanding Application Configuration Management, Development and Deployment
  • Experienced in User Communication and Application Support
  • Expertise with Stakeholder and Vendor Management


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Pricing and Digital Customer Experience Applications
  • Competent in leading and managing a global team independently
  • High aptitude in thinking strategically and incorporating business needs into technical roadmaps
  • Capacity to think outside the box when designing systems and solutions
  • Proven experience providing direction, delegating and removing obstacles for team
  • Develop and deliver multimode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences
