Destructoid is a place for passionate gamers to find engaging articles & information about their favorite franchises written by other passionate gamers. Currently, we're looking for freelance writers to join our fully remote and international newsroom.

Working with Destructoid means writing high-quality guides, lists, and breaking news about Pokemon. Competitive applicants will have in-depth knowledge about the sports game beat and will track current news and topics within the community to contribute in-depth guides, listicles, rankings, and breaking news. We encourage writers to use their own voice when writing.

Requirements:

  • Must be a self starter who can confidently pitch trending ideas
  • Meet deadlines for publishing stories
  • Good communication habits

Preferred:

  • At least 1-2 years of prior game writing experience (with Trello and WordPress training)
  • Deep knowledge of video games and their related communities
  • Excitement, dedication, and an ability to pivot when needed
