Work Location: Remote
Starting Salary: $110,000 to $160,000 annually
Pay Frequency: Bi-Weekly

Job Description

Position Objective:

The Defense Contracts Management (DCM) position is responsible for managing the Contracts and leading the contract creation process for all Defense business. The DCM is responsible for creating and maintaining strong relationships internally and with customers with respect to all structure and content of contractual documents, discussions and negotiations. The DCM works with Business Development and Program Management to set clear requirements for a project to be proposed, managed and executed to.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction on all Defense contracts
  • Identify and assess the primary contractual risks, opportunities and requirements and communicates them with the project team
  • Work with Business Development and Program Management to define the contract strategy
  • Develop a knowledge base of negotiating strategies, best practices, and negotiation personnel and teams
  • Make improvements to processes, procedures, workflow and organizational structures for contract management
  • Work alongside other Sales and Procurement colleagues to develop statements of work (SOWs) and understand any current requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs) and requests for proposal (RFPs) that are in the pipeline
  • Uphold legal and ethical practices in all matters
  • Provide contract-related issue resolution
  • Manage storage of all contract-related correspondence and documentation according to company policy
  • Seek potential improvements to internal processes and tools for all contract related efforts
  • Monitor project period of performance for close-out, extension or renewal to ensure that no gaps are left open in contractual performance
  • Communicate contract related information to internal and external stakeholders including legal, DFAS, DCMA, DCAA, etc.
  • Leads contractual change management efforts on existing contracts

Experience/Skills:

  • Due to government contracts, must be a US Citizen for positions at the North Mankato facility.
  • 4-5 years of experience in contract management preferred
  • Legal background with relevant experience as contract manager for governmental projects preferred
  • Preferred experience in the Defense business
  • Excellent professional, legal written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills and experience
  • Resilient and relentless in pursuit of targets and objectives

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in related field
