We’re on a mission to make knowledge work faster and more humane. We believe that AI will fundamentally transform how people work. In the future, everyone will work in tandem with expert AI assistants who find knowledge, create and synthesize information, and execute work. These assistants will free people up to focus on the higher-level, creative aspects of their work.

We’re building a system of intelligence for every company in the world. On the surface, you can think of it as Google + ChatGPT for the enterprise. Under the hood, our platform is the connective tissue between AI and knowledge. It brings all of a company’s knowledge together, understands it at a deep level, provides industry-leading search relevance over it, and connects it to generative AI agents and applications.

Glean was founded by a seasoned team of former Google search and Facebook engineers who saw a need in the enterprise space for their technical depth and passion for AI. We’re a diverse team of curious and creative people who want to help each other get big things done—so we can help other teams do the same.

We're backed by some of the Valley's leading venture capitalists—including Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed, and General Catalyst—and have assembled a world-class team with senior leadership experience at Google, Slack, Facebook, Dropbox, Rubrik, Uber, Intercom, Pinterest, Palantir, and others.

About this team:

As the first dedicated Deal Desk Manager, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations to streamline processes, provide strategic guidance, and ensure alignment across teams. Your role will be instrumental in shaping our deal strategy and supporting cross-functional growth.

We work closely with teams across the organization to deliver practical, innovative, and business-focused support that drives growth and success. As part of the team, you’ll support a wide variety of functions, from sales and finance, to product and strategy, embodying our “get to yes” approach.

We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Deal Desk Manager to build and lead our Deal Desk function. As the first dedicated Deal Desk hire, you will play a critical role in shaping our deal execution strategy, streamlining processes, and ensuring cross-functional alignment across Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations. You will also provide deal structure guidance, improve contract workflows, and optimize pricing and approval frameworks to drive efficient and scalable growth.

What you’ll do:

  • Establish Deal Desk Operations: Develop and implement best practices for deal structuring, approvals, and execution to support scalable growth.
  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Sales team, providing guidance on deal structure, pricing, and contract terms to drive successful outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure deal processes are efficient and comply with company policies.
  • Approval Workflow Development: Create and maintain approval workflows, ensuring appropriate visibility and governance over non-standard deals.
  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the deal process and implement automation or process enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze deal trends and performance, providing insights to leadership to refine pricing and contracting strategies.
  • Training and Enablement: Educate Sales and other key stakeholders on deal processes, policies, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience: 5+ years in Deal Desk, Revenue Operations or a similar function within the SaaS/technology industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of deal structuring, pricing strategies, and contract negotiation processes.
  • Systems Expertise: Proficiency in CRM and CPQ tools, with a preference for Salesforce experience.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to balance risk, efficiency, and business goals.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
  • Independence and Initiative: Ability to work independently and build a function from the ground up in a high-growth environment.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to Glean’s Values:
    • Make it Customer-Driven: We put our customers first, ensuring that their needs and success guide everything we do.
    • Make it Happen: We take ownership, move with purpose, and deliver results.
    • Make it Better: We embrace curiosity and continuous improvement, always seeking ways to elevate our work.
    • Make it Together: We believe in the power of collaboration and build strong partnerships to achieve shared goals.

What you’ll get:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Medical, Vision and Dental coverage
  • Flexible work environment and time-off policy
  • 401k
  • Company events
  • A home office improvement stipend when you first join
  • Annual education stipend
  • Wellness stipend
  • Healthy lunches and dinners provided daily

For California based applicants:

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.

We are a diverse bunch of people and we want to continue to attract and retain a diverse range of people into our organization. We're committed to an inclusive and diverse company. Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
