Role Description: 

We are seeking a skilled Database Solution Specialist with expertise in Google Cloud databases to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing database solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of various Google Cloud database services such as Cloud SQL, Firestore, Bigtable, and Spanner, and possess hands-on experience in deploying and optimizing these solutions to meet the organization's data needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing database solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) according to business requirements and best practices.

  • Evaluating and recommending appropriate Google Cloud database services based on performance, scalability, and cost considerations.

  • Developing data migration strategies and executing database migrations to Google Cloud environments.

  • Optimizing database performance and ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of Google Cloud databases.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate database solutions with other GCP services and applications.

  • Providing technical guidance and support to internal teams and clients on Google Cloud database technologies.

  • Monitoring database health, performance, and capacity utilization, and implementing proactive measures to address issues.

  • Staying updated on the latest advancements and best practices in Google Cloud database technologies and incorporating them into the organization's solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on Google Cloud databases.

  • In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its database services, including Cloud SQL, Firestore, Bigtable, and Spanner.

  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing database solutions on Google Cloud.

  • Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and query optimization techniques.

  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python or Bash.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot database-related issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer) preferred but not required.
