We are seeking an experienced individual to oversee multiple programs and projects of varying size, duration, and complexity that increase the trustworthiness and reliability of the data consumed throughout the enterprise. Success starts with bringing strong analytical skills along with a passion for transforming data into actionable insights. You will be responsible for Power BI report development, maintenance, and cultivating partnerships across Northwestern Mutual's extensive analytical community. You will have the opportunity to showcase your data modeling skills, tell stories with data, and participate in various enterprise-wide initiatives to increase data awareness and foster collaboration across teams.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends to decision-makers in order to drive business decisions and address business questions
  • Summarizes analysis into user-friendly deliverables by translating detailed data into business-appropriate communication and recommendations
  • Delivers results to Business Clients
  • Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems
  • Ability & desire to learn the business domain supported
  • Applies this understanding towards analysis & deliverables
  • Ability to communicate acquired knowledge within project team
  • Seeks to understand business process, user tasks, and as necessary, capture
  • Implementing best practices, methodologies, standards and processes
  • Takes initiatives to design and develop deliverables based on interpretation of findings and business client needs
  • Collaborates with team for speed, agility and innovation in work
  • Occasionally contributes to the growth & development of the organization through actively sharing result & insights with cross-functional teams
  • Identifies & captures business requirements, contributes to KPI framework
  • Embraces continuous learning, curiosity, and ambiguity
  • Occasionally applies new perspectives, creative problem solving, and inter-departmental connections to improve analytical capabilities
  • Occasionally contributes to the growth & development of the organization through actively sharing result & insights with cross-functional teams


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or related field
  • At least 1-3 years of experience/knowledge in data analysis, reporting or application development
  • Expertise in one or more development or analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, MS Excel, SPSS or other tool. Visualization tooling like PowerBI or Tableau
  • Ability to deliver results and recommendations in written, verbal and presentation form for technical audiences
  • Skills in problem solving, research, quantitative analysis and analytical working techniques
  • Strong aptitude and desire for learning new platforms, development, analytic and presentation tools
  • Demonstrated ability to gather information systematically; consider a broad range of issues or factors and use accurate logic in analysis
  • Initiative to independently design and develop own deliverables while still being a team player
  • Ability to be manage and prioritize concurrent assignments, and handle ambiguity
  • Creative and innovative in problem solving and formulating solutions

Pay Range - Start:
$64,820.00
Pay Range - End:
$120,380.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
