Title: Cost Analyst
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Inventory Cost Manager
Salary: $65,000-80,000 + bonus
Date: 3/2025
Job Summary: The Cost Analyst will be a key resource to the Finance and Accounting teams. The role will focus on costing and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and inventory processes & procedures. This position will require a strong knowledge base in inventory costing, variance analysis, seeking out process/procedural improvements, and exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills. This role is essential in building a strong resource for innovative product costing analysis, variance analysis and robust policies and procedures at BeatBox.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
Financial Costing & Analysis:
- Assist in BOM and standards maintenance and evaluation based on corporate policies and production processes
- Understand and analyze purchase prices, variances and trends
- Assist with month end close processes, journal entries, and reconciling inventory to ensure inventory cost is accurate and timely
- Analyze inventory losses and understand their root cause
- Understand and maintain inventory costing methodology and conversion cost drivers
- Aid in the maintenance of data loaded into ERP system and support expansion of software capabilities
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for inventory related expenses
- Partner with the Operations team to ensure objectives are achieved
Inventory Processes & Procedures:
- Provide support in documenting internal controls, policies and procedures for inventory
- Assist in the validation that policies and procedures are being followed
- Build strong knowledge on Dynamics BC processes
Additional Analysis:
- Provide reporting and data based on organizational needs as they pertain to inventory, cost of goods manufactured, and cost of goods sold
- Assist Operations as needed, providing analysis and insights in order to make improved business decisions
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics BC is strongly preferred
- Experience with PowerBI is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel to include pivot tables, if/and/or statements, nested formulas
- Office Scripts, VBA and macros are a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or other technical field from an accredited college
- Five years of work experience in accounting or finance role
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
