WEX is seeking a Corporate Marketing Specialist to join its growing team. The global role is part of the Marketing team. Headquarters is based in Portland, ME.

The Corporate Marketing Specialist will play an important supporting role in our Corporate Marketing team. As a coordinator of all of our planning, meetings, activities, tools and reporting, you will work with all functions of Corporate Marketing–Corporate Communications, PR, Brand, and Creative–to ensure the transfer of critical information to stakeholders. You will support our relationship with our PR agency, help drive an editorial board function to ensure leaders know which stories are being communicated internally and externally (and when), manage the Corporate Marketing scorecard, and project manage cross-team tasks and activities. You will also assist with copywriting and editing as needed. This is a great opportunity to work alongside senior Marketing leaders and PR agencies  while playing a vital coordination role. 

How you'll make an impact

  • Support the Director of Corporate Communications in running an editorial board mechanism, ensuring content calendars are maintained, developing templates and workflows, to ensure people/tasks are completed within SLA 

  • Schedule PR team/agency meetings to maintain strong working relationship

  • Research media contacts, potential publication targets and pitch story opportunities internally for consideration

  • Ensure monthly scorecard/reporting for Corporate Marketing is prepared, on time and accurate

  • Track and measure PR and strategic communications campaign performance using key metrics (e.g., media placements, media impressions, sentiment, intranet engagement, open rates, click throughs, etc.)

  • Prepare regular media coverage and internal communications reports for our senior leadership team (with PR leaders)

  • Manage critical cross-functional projects (e.g., customer advocacy, brand storytelling efforts) to ensure timely completion and stakeholder buy-in

  • Assist with copywriting and general intranet content management, as needed

Experience you'll bring

  • 2-5 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience with media monitoring tools and PR databases.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Knowledge of media relations best practices and AP style.

  • Detail-oriented and results-driven.

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications, or a related field preferred.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
