The Opportunity
DAT Freight & Analytics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Corporate Development Partner to play a key role in driving the company's growth through strategic partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and investments. Reporting to the Chief of Analytics / VP of Corporate Development, the Corporate Development Partner will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic opportunities that align with DAT’s overall business objectives and accelerate its market leadership. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a leading SaaS provider in the transportation and logistics industry.
What You’ll Do
- Implement Processes that Scale: Build and maintain processes and that keep stakeholders informed of deal flow, opportunity status, and industry updates.
- Strategy & Opportunity Identification: Collaborate with senior leadership and segment leaders to define strategic priorities and identify potential partnership, M&A, and investment opportunities that support DAT’s growth strategy.
- Market Research & Due Diligence: Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and financial due diligence to evaluate the strategic fit and financial viability of potential transactions.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with potential partners, target companies, investment firms, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Financial Modeling & Valuation: Partner with the strategic finance team to formulate financial scenarios that will underpin deal logic.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, sales, marketing, legal, and finance, to ensure alignment and successful execution of corporate development initiatives.
- Presentation & Reporting: Prepare and present clear and concise presentations and reports to senior management and the executive team on the progress and status of corporate development activities.
- Transaction Execution: Partner with DAT’s parent company, Roper Technologies, to structure and execute thorough diligence processes while coordinating various internal and external stakeholders.
- Post-Merger Integration: Support the integration process for acquisitions to ensure successful realization of synergies and strategic objectives.
- Stay Informed: Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies within the logistics industry.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or strategic consulting.
- Proven track record of successfully sourcing, evaluating, and executing partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and/or investments.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as industry trade organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with teams distributed both remotely and in-person.
- Strong understanding of the software and technology industry, ideally with exposure to the transportation and logistics sector.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $140,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
