Overview

1047 Games began with the simple principle that people should have fun while making great games. Bucking convention and driven by a passion to create the ultimate gaming experience, Ian Proulx and Nicholas Bagamian founded 1047 Games in 2017 in their Stanford dorm room. Their love for arena shooters of the past drove them to create Splitgate, a unique sci-fi first-person shooter that adds portal guns to upend the genre.

What started as two computer science majors putting portals into a first-person shooter for a project demo has evolved into a VC-backed company which has raised more than $120MM in funding.

At 1047 Games, you’ll find a permanently remote, dedicated team of top-tier talent from some of the world’s biggest gaming and tech companies who share our founders’ vision. Grit, ingenuity, a desire to have fun, and a start up mentality define our crew. We are currently working on Splitgate 2.

We’re looking for our community's biggest champion to be the bridge between the Splitgate 2 player community, our developers, and our marketing team. This role requires a passionate advocate for the community, who will execute the global community strategy, always maintaining a player-first approach.

The Community Manager will collaborate closely with our games's most dedicated players and content creators across Discord, Reddit, and streaming platforms. They will also be responsible for direct-to-player communication, community health, and engagement strategies.

  • A calm leader who can navigate high pressure scenarios, keep a cool head when chaos is flying around them, and help regulate community sentiment.
  • A high energy communicator who can write compelling posts, host streams, and create engaging community content.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead direct-to-player communications that promote information and dialogue on platforms such as Discord, Reddit, and Steam forums
  • Execute and provide input on the global community strategy, ensuring alignment with game and marketing goals
  • Facilitate and execute internal and external communication processes between community, developers, and marketers

  • Ideate, execute, and host livestreams for our community
  • Help manage and grow our creator program, onboarding and supporting content creators
  • Organize and execute community-facing events, as well as feedback loops to help inform our development teams
  • Utilize social listening tools to compile weekly reports, inform decision making, and make recommended strategic adjustments
  • Define and track KPIs for community engagement, sentiment, and growth
  • Write engaging and informative blogs, patch notes, scripts, and other content
  • Be able to manage crisis communication, reputation management, and community escalations that may impact business decisions, player sentiment, and/or game development

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
