Machine Learning Modeler - Risk

Machine Learning is an integral part of how we design products, operate, and pursue Cash App's mission to serve the unbanked as well as disrupt traditional financial institutions. You will be part of Cash App's Risk team. This team owns analytical and ML solutions for the full lifecycle of the Cash products with a focus on mitigating risk/fraud. Team works with Product, Platform, Legal, and others to balance financial loss to the business, regulatory risk, and the holistic customer experience. You will work remotely and report into the Machine Learning Modeling, Engineering Manager.
You Will

• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models to prevent fraud, identify risk factors, and mitigate financial losses across Cash App
• Use ML techniques including anomaly detection, classification, regression, and unsupervised learning methods
• Lead the ML solutions throughout the entire product lifecycle-from design and development to deployment and monitoring-ensuring that risk and fraud mitigation strategies are integrated into product offerings at every stage.
• Work closely with teams across Product, Platform, Legal, and other functions to understand requirements, mitigate regulatory risks, and optimize models.
• Ensure that all ML models and risk mitigation strategies comply with industry regulations, including data privacy and fraud detection guidelines.
• Contribute to the evolution of the team's risk management strategy by implementing solutions to combat threats.

You Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in machine learning, data analysis, or a related field
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and data analysis techniques
• Python (NumPy, Pandas, sklearn, xgboost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
• MySQL, Snowflake, GCP/AWS and Tableau
• Experience working in fraud or anomaly detection
