We are seeking a Learning and Development Specialist with expertise in non-profit fund accounting, financial processes, and procedures. As a pivotal member of our International Accounting Support Team, our ideal candidate will design and deliver effective learning materials, facilitate training sessions, and foster talent development. This specialist will work with managers and senior managers on deliverables associated with multiple business groups or locations, with a primary focus on supporting accounting teams in national offices.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks, and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.

  • Design and deliver both formal and informal learning solutions across various content areas, including professional development, management training, and procedural and technical skills.

  • Develop and maintain accounting-related training materials utilizing diverse methods, including written instructions, recorded videos, and occasional in-person sessions.

  • Facilitate structured learning experiences for both small and large groups, employing diverse facilitation techniques and adapting delivery styles to meet the needs of participants.

  • Audit and evaluate existing training content, assess needs and outcomes, develop new materials, modify existing resources, or recommend changes as appropriate to ensure effectiveness and relevance.

  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team when relevant.

What do you bring?

  • Seven years of professional experience in the learning and development area.

  • Bachelor’s degree, with an Accounting degree preferred (but not required).

  • Proficiency in documenting processes and developing training materials.

  • Proficiency in using MS products for development of learning materials (MS Word, MS PowerPoint).

  • Experience with eLearning authoring and video creation tools.

  • Experience with developing materials suitable for translation.

  • Ability to develop content using simple English (6th grade reading level).

  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Lead or participate in special projects with a focus on process improvement, deliver training sessions, and global collaboration.

  • Experience working in financial systems; Workday Financial experience is a plus.

  • Experience in collaborating with global teams is a plus.

  • Fluency in English required (verbal and written).
