Resource Innovations is seeking an Accounting Director of Revenue in Illinois to join our growing team. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated an Accounting Director of Revenue with a strong background in revenue recognition and project-based accounting to join our dynamic team. The Accounting Director of Revenue will be working closely with a team that includes a Senior Manager and a Lead to help run initiatives and manage delivery units. The position involves overseeing and guiding a team focused on revenue recognition, while ensuring that the company’s financial statements accurately reflect the performance of contracts and projects. The Director will also be responsible for leading new initiatives and managing relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
The Director’s role is integral in ensuring the accurate recording of revenue, creating actionable insights from financial data, and driving process efficiency through continual improvements. Strong leadership skills, the ability to collaborate with multiple departments, and a focus on team development are key to success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Revenue Recognition & Compliance:
- Overseeing revenue recognition in compliance with relevant standards such as ASC 606 and IFRS 15.
- Ensure proper classification of revenues, unbilled receivables, and deferred revenues for each project.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and review detailed financial reports
- Project Accounting Oversight:
- Manage project accounting tasks
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for revenue-related inquiries from operations, legal, and sales teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Location:
- Must be located in or willing to relocate the greater Chicagoland, IL area within 30 days of acceptance.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or equivalent certification
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in revenue accounting, project accounting, or financial reporting, with
- 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Expertise in ASC 606 and IFRS 15
- Team management experience
- Proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Communication:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to stakeholders.

- A genuine Interest in sustainability and making a meaningful impact on the environment.
