There’s always something buzzing when it comes to Seattle tech, and it’s no different for the following featured companies of the month.
Whether it’s making digital currencies more accessible, adopting a fully remote work policy or something else entirely, these four companies all continuing to make their mark in the Seattle area.

What they do: Trupanion is a pet medical insurance company for cats and dogs, with a mission to help pets live longer and healthier lives.
Pet-friendly office: It would make sense that Trupanion’s office would be pet-friendly, but they take it to another level. There’s a puppy play area in the company’s lobby and pet beds and blankets at every cubicle.
Tech stack: Trupanion uses Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB for databases, and .NET, C# and SQL for languages.

What they do: Coinme is a fintech company that provides access to consumer financial services built on blockchain technology. It’s building a physical cash on-ramp to cryptocurrencies through a mobile-first digital bank-like experience, with a goal to make digital currency accessible to everyone.
Bitcoin mania: In December 2020, Coinme expanded its Bitcoin-enabled Coinstar kiosk network to 5,000 locations. “The fast-moving expansion of Bitcoin-enabled Coinstar kiosks means that more Americans than ever now have the power to invest in digital currencies and stake their claim in the future of money — even on a quick trip to the grocery store,” Neil Bergquist, Coinme’s CEO, said in a press release.
Remote-first: Even though their headquarters are in Seattle, Coinme has adopted a fully remote office.

What they do: Ookla is a software tech company that provides internet testing, data and analysis through its popular products like Speedtest, Downdetector and Spatialbuzz.
Trio of offices: Ookla’s headquarters are based in Seattle, but that’s not their only space. They also have offices in Memphis and Dublin, Ireland. Not based in any of those three locations? No problem — they’re also remote-friendly.
Tech stack: Ookla uses a swath of languages, including C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, R, SQL and Swift.

What they do: Anduril Industries is a defense technology company that invents products with AI, autonomy and sensor fusion that will protect those who serve on the front lines.
Five offices: Anduril has a handful of locations across the country, including Seattle, Washington, D.C., Boston, Orange County, Calif. and even an office in London.
They’re hiring: Anduril is looking to fill a number of engineering positions at their Seattle office, including a senior front-end software engineer, a software engineer and more.
