Summer is in full swing in Seattle. Whether enjoying a sunny day at Gas Works Park, catching one of the city’s outdoor music or food festivals or heading out to Alki Beach with friends and family, this season is also a great time to keep up with the ins and outs of local tech companies and their innovative teams.
In May, Seattle tech companies took in over $92.8 million in funding, empowering them to continue innovating, creating and growing. In the coming months, six local companies and their teams are working to achieve ambitious goals.
Driven by creative teams and innovative missions and bolstered by people-first cultures and a variety of perks and benefits, these companies are worthy of a moment in the spotlight.

An eye on the future: When VP of Marketing Jared Bodnar spoke to Built In Seattle in 2022, he shared what exciting projects lay ahead for Tango. “I’m super excited about the Tango Card vision and how we can help our clients spread joy to more and more people. We are going to expand into new countries, launch new products and open up new use cases,” Bodnar explained.
Putting people first: What makes Tango’s culture great? According to Engineering Director DJ Johnstone, it’s organic and driven by team members. “The challenge with culture is that you can’t get a committee together, plan exactly what makes your culture, then magically have it. A great culture is built by the human interactions that are taken at all levels of the organization,” said Johnstone in a 2022 interview with Built In Seattle.
