Schools are great places to learn but they can’t teach you everything. That is especially true for professionals looking to learn new skills to advance their careers. Thankfully there is a slew of educational platforms that vary in disciplines, and because they only require an internet connection are easily accessible to millions. One company looking to make a splash in this industry is Sales Impact Academy (SIA), an online platform focused on creating educational content for sales and revenue employees.
On Wednesday, SIA secured $22 million in new funding that will be used to create an online educational and professional development curriculum. Funding for the round was led by HubSpot Ventures and MIT Investment Management Company.
SIA, which launched out of London and has a remote presence in Seattle, was founded in 2019 and has grown to 125 employees. It offers online courses that range between two and seven weeks on topics from SDR leadership to ones about using LinkedIn for sales leads. According to a release, courses are taught by top executives in companies such as HubSpot, GitHub and G2, among others. Courses cover topics such as sales, customer success, marketing, management and operations.
“There is a massive opportunity to provide world-class go-to-market educational content to professionals in sales and marketing roles as they seek to grow their careers, upskill and contribute meaningfully to their organization,” Brandon Greer, head of HubSpot Ventures, said in a release. “SIA is seizing this opportunity while building a real community in the process. We have conviction that SIA can become the digital-first standard for achieving early go-to-market excellence.”
SIA partners with companies to offer its courses as training for employees. It has partnered with companies like HubSpot, Amazon Web Services and Saclewize. To date, it has over 260 customers with more than 14,000 learners using its courses.
In an interview with the Seattle Business Journal, SIA’s chief revenue officer Tony Jackson said the company considers Seattle its “home base.” He also stated that with the new funds the company is looking to recruit employees coming out of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business to add to its Seattle employee base.
