The Database Manager is responsible for executing the day-to-day support, maintenance and improvement of the organization’s CRM systems and related data. The Database Manager works with stakeholders across the organization to support engagement, fundraising and other revenue generation strategies.

Salary: $87,000-$95,000

Seattle, hybrid schedule, requires days onsite each week and other days remote

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Serve as the in-house subject matter expert and administrator for CRM systems and integrated applications and services. Proactively seek ways to optimize CRM systems to support the organization’s current and evolving needs
  • Ensure best practices in data management, data security and reporting are implemented and followed
  • Administer user accounts, roles and profiles, manage fields and modify page layouts to support user adoption, business needs and data security
  • Oversee data validation, hygiene and maintenance: monitor data quality, build systems to ensure data integrity and execute data corrections using data management tools
  • Manage integrations including imports and exports of data 
  • Document, maintain and carry out data retention procedures and procedures required for compliance
  • Coordinate with vendors and others to successfully manage and deploy upgrades, updates, enhancements and fixes
  • Identify and participate in process improvement efforts with a focus on system capabilities and opportunities, translating use cases and requests into defined data processes and solutions
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and documentation of data architecture and data models of supported systems
  • Troubleshoot complex data issues; identify the source of the issue and deploy solutions
  • Execute communications strategies that drive adoption and support data governance
  • Develop comprehensive system documentation to support best practices and provide transparency to defined processes and automations
  • Provide end-user training, which includes onboarding and ongoing trainings
  • Assist business users with their development of reports and dashboards, encouraging self-service when it comes to access to data
  • Assess the impact of new requirements on systems and processes and make recommendations and decisions to meet requirements
  • Collaborate with other team members to foster a positive and productive culture and contribute toward the overall growth of the CPM

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests and deliver quality customer service while remaining security minded
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex processes
  • Ability to design, implement and document new processes, facilitate user adoption and support end user skill development
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies
  • Excellent project management skills and a positive attitude
  • Strong attention to detail

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Three years of experience managing and supporting donor databases
  • Demonstrated knowledge of data-driven fundraising tactics
  • Strong data management experience required
  • Experience supporting and administering email marketing systems preferred
  • Experience managing and completing technical projects
  • Experience administering or supporting Revolution CRM preferred
  • Experience administering or supporting Salesforce Sales Cloud preferred
  • Experience administering or supporting Engaging Networks messaging, fundraising and/or events modules preferred
  • Salesforce Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certified preferred
  • Experience with PCI compliance standards preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform work duties under stress and time pressures
  • Ability to work during Cascade Public Media’s business hours plus occasional evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to sit and type on a keyboard for long periods of time
