Description:


For more than two decades, APX, Inc. (an Xpansiv company) has provided scheduling, settlement, and real-time data solutions to wholesale energy market participants. APX is seeking a SCADA Engineer to help support and grow this Power Solutions business. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have strong analytical skills, and possess a strong working knowledge of SCADA systems. As part of the Power Solutions team, this person will help to deliver exceptional products and service to our customers – in concert with Xpansiv’s mission to empower the world's transition to sustainable energy. What you’ll do:

· Technical Support: Provide timely and effective technical support to clients experiencing issues with SCADA systems, diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions to restore functionality and minimize downtime.

· System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the performance and health of SCADA systems, proactively identifying potential issues or anomalies and implementing preventive maintenance measures to ensure system reliability and stability.

· SCADA System Development: Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop SCADA systems tailored to the specific needs of clients.

· Implementation and Integration: Assist in the installation, configuration, and integration of SCADA software and hardware components within existing APX infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations.

· System Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing procedures to validate the functionality and performance of SCADA systems, identifying and resolving technical issues or discrepancies promptly.

· Documentation and Training: Maintain comprehensive documentation of SCADA configurations, procedures, and best practices, and provide training and support to internal teams and end-users as needed.


What you’ll bring:

· Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Minimum of two years of experience in SCADA system support and administration.

· Some understanding of power market operations, including energy trading, scheduling, and grid management.

· Experience with SCADA protocols and standards, such as DNP3, Modbus, and IEC 61850.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders


Desired Qualifications:

· Proficiency in/experience with OSI technologies.

· Relevant certifications, such as Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA) or Certified SCADA Professional (CSP), are a plus.


Base Salary

Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, knowledge, education and training. However, compensation in the following regions is expected to be as follows:

NYC: Compensation is expected to be between

$115,000 and $135,000

Colorado: Compensation is expected to be between

$124,000 and $133,000

Washington State: Compensation is expected to be between

$120,000 and $130,000

California: Compensation is expected to be between

$120,000 and $140,000
